Director's Statement

Mixed with young memories and experiences, we hope to return to the streets of Guangzhou, China in 2008 with you.  It is about the confrontation of collective individuals in the context of the big era, as well as the group catharsis, loneliness and helplessness of individuals. The young marginalised boys try to gain recognition and attention through external catharsis. And their madness is wrapped up in the larger violence and the unknown spectacle to come. In the end, they still cannot find an exit but enter into a greater emptiness as fireworks are lit and blossomed over and over again. Everyone's madness, anger, and hopelessness dissipated in the big-time celebration with the bright fireworks. Thank you all for bearing witness to this memory with me.
